I first met Cornelio and Nancy a few years ago. They attended one of the Covenant churches in Oaxaca. Cornelio and Nancy, along with their three children-Karin, Levi & Adriana-had a variety of roles in the life of this congregation.
They lived in a humble house and Cornelio had a small printing business. Over the past few years I have worked more closely with Nancy as she coordinated a children's ministry for the entire state of Oaxaca. This past year Cornelio and Nancy shared with me the dream that they felt God was leading them into. They wanted to become missionaries in another part of Mexico.
Two weeks ago, this dream became a reality and they packed up their meager house, put everything into an old car and headed north toward the U.S./Mexican border. They will be church planters in a town and state without any Covenant churches.
It was a joy to be a witness to how God has worked in their lives to this point and will continue to work in the future. Instead of only being the missionary that had Oaxacan friends, we are now all co-missionaries in spreading God's word in Mexico.
