A busy month

July has been an extremely busy month. It began with the annual missionary retreat in Queretaro, Mexico. This is the one time in the year that all the Covenant missionaries in Mexico get together. It began with business meetings and ended with the retreat. Fun, fellowship and learning were the highlights of the week. Our speaker was Dr. Al Tizon (pictured above).

Almost immediately after the retreat the Mexican Covenant Church held their annual meeting in Oaxaca. Here are some photos of what happened during the week.
One night we had a supper where people dressed in traditional clothing from various parts of Mexico. Here I am in a huipil that is traditional in the mountain area north of the city of Oaxaca. The rebozo (shawl) on my head was arranged by a friend from that area. There were lots of laughs about my traditional "Chicago clothing".
A national women's board was elected and took office for the coming two years.

The supper was served by the youth and included a Christian mariachi band.
My friends Nancy and Cornelio. They will be leaving in August to start a new church plant in the north of Mexico.
