What happens when modern technology meets the traditional indigenous languages of Mexico? One example is this Saber player. Modern technology has developed an MP3 player that can play almost any of the indigenous languages spoken in Mexico.The Saber player pictured above is loaded with the Biblical story from Creation to Jesus Christ in two of the languages spoken in the isthmus region of Oaxaca-the isthmus Zapotec and the isthmus Mixe. This small machine can be connected to any computer and you can download any dialect that Gospel Recordings has on their website. It can use electricity but more importantly it can also be hand wound so that even without electricity, the Word of God can be heard in remote villages.
